An extraordinary coffee table crafted in Italy in the 1950s. The table is handmade from stained beech wood and features eight tapered legs, each finished with brass sabot shoes. The legs splay outward in the distinctive “spider-leg” formation characteristic of high-end Italian modernism. The circular top is cut from a rare piece of rainbow onyx—a decorative stone prized in mid-century interiors for its dramatic banding and semi-translucent depth. The richly layered patterning makes the surface appear almost painterly, with organic rivers of colour flowing across the top.
