Jardinière, produced in Florence, Italy c1900s. Hand-made from terracotta, the pot is decorated in a blue-and-white glaze, and features a continuous high-relief frieze of classical female faces with flowing hair - sometimes referred to as “Medusa”. Raised on a short footed base with a rounded rim, the pot shows subtle glaze variation and light surface crackling.
